Birdman,
Welcome to my world of disappointment. I searched inside and outside of Powell's last night and came up empty. Assuming I was in the right place...I was once again too late.
ProspectorPete is still hoping to strike it rich though on the next riddle.

Okay...this is now getting ridiculous. I was still busy patting myself on the back for actually getting out and looking for the 'Boy racer' relic (t had actually already been found before I left the house and I still have no idea if I was actually even at the right 'monument') when the 'Sacagawea' riddle was posted.
Less then four hours later and while I am still making plans for my Saturday morning search of Washington Park the riddle is down already and the relic has been found!!
Who ARE these folks???? I am beginning to think that some of my fellow searchers must be staking out First Knight's house and following him as he hides the relics.

If anyone is planning to head out searching for a grail piece, I'd love to come along and shoot some video. I'm making a documentary about cross crusade, and need some footage of the grail hunt to flesh out that part of the story.
Please email or call me if you are heading out and I can follow you around.

Ok kids, another rainy afternoon spent with my daughter and a stoic
knight. It has been a week without the code being entered. Do we
know that the piece is still in play and has not been taken by some
heathen not on the quest. We have been out multiple times on this
clue to no avail. Granted we have never seen one of the Grail pieces
so we have no clue as to the size, color, shape, but we have covered
the area thoroughly.

: Dear Grail Hunters,
This message is issued from the knights of the round table.
You have disappointed us deeply. Your grievous ineptitude has resulted
in non-closure of this object.
We are thus regrettably forced to remediate this portion of the grail to
afford your piddly code cracking skills any traction.
An obelisk marks an ancient battleground
Very nearby a relic will be found
Legends record a fencing duel
Find this relic, quit being a tool.

Dear Knightynight & Members of the roundtable,
I would like to step forward to admit to my grievous ineptitude in the search for this relic. Furthermore, I would like to confirm your suspicions with regard to the piddlyness of my code cracking. Despite these obvious shortcomings, I would like to formally request another hintyhint so that we can all just put this relic behind us.
Sincerely, ProspectorPete

DEAR KNOBLE KNIGHTS
There are but 2 Grail Pieces remaining and but ten (10) days and nights
until the great Crusades Celebration in the Banquet Hall of the Citidel.
The final grail clue for the last grail piece will be revealed tonight. Until
then the great Wizard has issued yet another clue for the location of the
current piece:
Where once the waters were Guild
And Balch's landclaim was tilled
There the Grail's piece is rumored to lay
near a lake that was ingloriously filled.
The infamous Balch had no repents
an oblisque marks the lover's grave, hence
On forested trails fat tires roll and brakes wail,
while the mouners lay memorials upon a nearby fence.

Three gallant knights dine
Burgers and gallons of wine
Wildwood is our favored banquet hall
Let's assemble there
Hunters one and all
Feasting from 6 to 8 on this very eve
Being late is reason to grieve
'Tis the giving season
Buy us food, drinks, and give us a reason
State your case in verse and rhyme
Pull out your purse and the relic is thine.

Birdman,
Is it possible your love of trees
has led your search to a pile of leaves?
A prior riddle's clue is a certain word.
Think like a cat, not like a bird.

Who has the time for this?
I'm lucky to get my bike in working order from race to race, and arrive with enough time for a warmup. This is mind boggling.
Hats off to you, I guess. Better you than me!

Dear Knights of the Cross
I am at a loss
Looking for the piece I seek
I looked high and low
Tromped through the snow
I cannot feel my hands or my cheek (guess which one!)
So now you shall be called the Knights who say Ni
Because I looked in every shrubbery
Under leaves, benches, and in trees
I found lots of trash
Even discovered a geocache
Lots of dirt and mud on my knees
I found a key on a post
Tried every lock I suppose
And a needle for meth I would assume
So with work I must repent
I spent more time than I meant
My job I must resume
Knights this task
Is like a cross race, I'm gassed
The relic is surely not there
Waved off after a lap down
I take off my crown
and quit while I still have my hair

To the Noble Knights,
Whence a lowly knight did hear of a hunt for relics so dear, he crisscrossed his burg, with riddles in hand and nothing to fear, knowing that this would finally be his year.
He headed west to a bluff knowing that the race would be tough. Alas the relic was gone - the next riddle would have to be enough
Now wiser and older, he ventured to Tabor in search of a great molder. Up in a tree - a relic he did see. The knight helped another to retrieve it, so so close he could not believe it.
Looking for a relic to call his own, Knight Prospector Pete searched throughout Old Town. So sad he was when he discovered his flub. He had been searching outside the wrong strip club.
Undaunted he marched into the dark, seeking a statue in Washington park. Sadly, Sacagawea would say, Another has already found your relic this day.
A brave knight knows he must remain proud, even when riding a rough road. Like a boy racer to Powell's he quickly strode. While the cyclist's training bible makes a great story, he imagined the relic in hand - oh the glory.
With seven relics gone, so far he had been trumped. This poor knight has the luck of Mortimer Stump.
While not shot through the chest, He decided to continue his quest. His search such a sad tale, he pulled out the stops in a final grasp for the grail. He recorded a rhyme to record his long trail. Present this tale he would, to the noble knights dining at the Wildwood. But misfortune struck and the knight was stuck in a blizzard on Mt Hood.
If by chance there is still one relic still remaining, I request that you give it to this brave and noble knight in training.
Knight Prospector Pete (pretty please)

Prospector Pete
Stay on your feet
The grail is all yours if you can find it
I will be out of town
I am a foolish clown
Driving through this crud to Boise
Good luck fellow Knights
As you rise to great heights
I am off to eat turkey and stuffing!

Fair thee well Birdman. You have fought the epic battle gallantly and are a worthy foe.
Perhaps the kindly knights will deliver the final clue hence forth...or perhaps just deliver the relic instead.
Knight in training, Prospector Pete

TO BIRDMAN AND PROSPECTOR PETE
ON THIS DAY OF THANKSGIVING and FEASTING ON FOUL (sorry Birdman)
We've read of your adventures in meter and rhyme
At the Round Table the stories provide a great time
We followed the course of your ardent travails
We heard from afar each of your tortured wails
Though Grail Relics eluded your dilligent quest
Your dedication and prose have proven you the best.
Remember the remaining relic will be in play
Until the end of the final reckoning day.
Of all the Knoble Hunters whom have earned Banquet seats,
We decree you the most honored, by virtue of your feats.
So let it be known on this Day of Thanksgiving,
Your hopes are not lost, but may go on living.
By Decree the Knights of the Cross Crusade
have determined that your efforts shall be justly repaid.
THEREFORE, BE PRESENT FOR THE BANQUET'S AWARDS
AND PRESENT YOURSELVES FOR YOUR RIGHTFUL REWARD.
Cross Crusade Awards Banquet will be DEC. 2, 7pm, The Waterheater, Corner of N.
Fremont and N. Albina, one block east of Mississippi.
