2009 Feudal States Declaration of War
(aka Team Competition)

In accordance with the Geneva Conventions, the official teams of the
Cross Crusade have entered into a State of War for domination of the
realm. Therefore be it known that the rules of engagement are hereby put
forth:

After the battles of the day are ended, the top 10 warriors across all
categories, from each OBRA Sanctioned team will be tallied and assigned
points.

The team with the lowest points for the series will be declared the victor.

Teams with fewer than 10 warriors fielded in the battles of the day will be
awarded 100 points per absentee warrior up to the total of 10 warriors.
Warriors who place 100 or above in any category will be awarded 100
points.

For example, if your teamís top placings are: 5 (cat M Aís), 8 (cat Elite W),
34 (cat B), 42 (cat B), 22 (Clydesdales), 15 (cat MM50+), 85 (cat SS), and
102 (cat Beg) and you did not field a ninth or tenth warrior in any
category, your team would be awarded 511 points.

The victorious team will be awarded the Cross Crusade Team Trophy and
will be granted the exclusive fiefdom of a Porta-Potty for the 2010
season (a priceless value and honor)

Suppose said team should discover, upon the dawn of battle, that they are
deficient in the requisite number of knights due to injury, illness, or
hangover. Shall said team be permitted to procure the services of mercenary
knights, assuming such knights have no sworn loyalty to another feudal
state, and that these knights ride under the guidon of the team procuring
their services?

And in the absence of the requisite ten knights, do the rules of engagement
expressly forbid the use of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch?

Logistically speaking, it won't work for riders to switch teams (or from
unattached to a team) during the series. With this many riders, it will be
hard for the officials to manage if people want to change the team on the
roster during the series.

I would think, if you asked an unattached rider to ride for your team for the
whole series, that isn't much different than really putting them on your
team. We are not going to manage official roster lists that you cannot
change. There is obviously an advantage to big teams (or small teams of
super heros) if the top 10 scores count. If you have 50 of your own riders,
chances are you will have 10 finishers.

One of the agreements that I had with the Crusaders is that there would be no team switching. If teams are not recorded at the time of registration, then they would not be added in for that race.  Points could not be moved from one team to another if a team mate changes teams.  this is suppose to be fun, and I am suppose to have a life.

"The number to be counted shall be 3."  Or in this case 10.

Did you just ask if ringers were legal?

Teams of less then 10 can still play. You get 100 points for every place up to 10 that there is not a rider. Bike Central is a good team, but only 1 of their riders rides ccx. So they will always have 900 some points.
