i would like to thank the renegade guiness rider in the As race (probably a master) who instead of crashing or at least braking, decided to ride through the crowd of thirty people not looking at you and onto the course the wrong way near the six pack.  thats dq material.
the cones are more than just a recommendation, they actually provide the structure of the course.  AND the course is one way only.  if you cant hold your line between them, get on your freeride bike.  you could have spilled beer, and thus, your actions are unacceptable.  i will be looking for you at clatsop, with a handful of steaming scat to throw in your face.

Obviously little grazhopper needs to read my post several more times before it sinks in. EVERYBODY dis-mounted and ran that section. The rider in question was ALSO RUNNING/SHOULDERING his bike, "we", the three of us. He tried to run between two other running racers where THERE WAS'NT A SPACE.He tried to, now this is where you need to focus little Dungbeetle, er grazhopper, "Thread the needle".A disrespectfully poor choice. I was'nt there to see the Rainer incident but I WAS there for the Barlow one. Were you?AND I'm all for pushing the limits. Every race for me is about controlled chaos.BTW, what does "cring" mean and how's your results?

Grazhopper - enough handwaving and mudslinging.
say something deconstructive if you are trying to hurt some feelings.  there is a difference between recklessness and running it hot.   that kind of d-baggery is what put treefarm in the hospital.  head on collisions are not for high fiving.

and for your spelling critique, ponyboy....eat a dick, moron. overpriced beer surviving on marketing does not command me to spell check their moniker.  go ride your t-rek

as someone who saw the incident in question, to his credit, the rider showed some real handling skill - AFTER HE LEFT THE COURSE.

on the other hand, that handling obviously was not in evidence beforehand, otherwise he wouldnt have ended up 20+ feet outside the cones, at race speed, threading through a crowd of spectators looking the other direction.

absolutely high five to everyone pushing the limit out there, but if you push past it, man up enough to wreck yourself or stop/slow down and get back on course rather than irresponsibly put other people at risk of serious injury. everyone came out of this one ok, and thats great, but things could have gone very, very wrong, whether in the definite eye of the needle situation through the teamsupergrundelbeerrelaxbruiser tent complex, or on course, the wrong way, along the six-pack.

and cring spells neither cringe or crying.

This thread seems to insinuate that there's something wrong with taking so much speed into a turn that you have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF MAKING IT.

I myself got some strange looks when hauling *ss down the long descent and making no effort to brake at the bottom to take the turn cleanly.

Yes it was ugly as hell. Yes, I may have put fellow racers, spectators and myself in danger. But that's why I showed up to race cross, because when you TOTALLY EAT sh*t in the grass or dirt, IT DOESN"T HURT THAT MUCH!

Rules for spectators to avoid harm:
1. Don't sit and watch just outside a turn where someone who totally overcooks it is going to run right into you.
2. If there's a nice big grassy spot in the sun just outside a place where a guy who overcooks a turn is going to hit you, refer to rule #1.

I also saw the incident, stood right there and watched the whole thing. What I witnessed was some of the best bike handling in a dangerous situation I have ever seen.

While taking the high speed off camber left hander the rider was pushed off line by the several other racers taking the corner  (I saw their handlebars and shoulders hit, no fault of the other riders, just awesome high speed cornering in a group,  sh%t happens). Rather than go down and certainally slide and injure the spectators the guy stayed upright and weaved through the people to AVOID hitting them.

He did not re-enter the course the wrong way. He rode back onto the course about 20 feet from where he exited, after avoiding going the wrong direction by the six pack. He avoided hitting people by not panicking and rode back onto the course in the right direction.

So.... Shred, sounds more like some excellent bike handling in a dangerous situation. If you were actually there I hope you paid attention. I guess like most things in life it is all about how you perceive the situation. Maybe next time he will panic, grab a fistfull of brakes and plant his chainrings in your  face. Lets hope not.

GO GUINNESS

Willie

izzy, you sound like a brakeless fixed gear rider trying to steal some style from other subcultures than vice magazine already tells you to.
"   1. Don't sit and watch just outside a turn where someone who totally overcooks it is going to run right into you.  "  if being hit by a renegade crosser while sitting hurts, how much does it hurt to be hit head on.  those smart physics people will say, like, 42 times more hurt.   so - dont ride or be, at any times, next to the course.  well, sh#@,  thats like all of every cx course ever.  hows about defending your line, not riding like a kitten with a corncob in the ahole, and respecting people, tents, groups of people, other riders you could kill, and your gd self respect.

willie,  i was there.  i saw the whole thing.  grisom reached up with his dead hand and he signed it in his own blood.  and he did it with this pen.  hello guiness, its your uncle bingo, time to pay the check.

...like a bunch of aged, methed up cylepath riders

I saw this and agree the rider in question was bumped off course by contact with other racers and did a magnificent job of threading the needle and avoiding plowing into un aware spectators.

I say great bike handling, & quick thinking in a tough situation. The rider lost ground to his competitors by preventing an accident. No harm no foul.

What the heck is this all about?  Where the f*ck did this come from.  There isn't a mention of any Cyclepath riders anywhere in this posting and you just 'throw' this in there?   You have some anger issues about getting beaten by someone?

Shred FYI,  JUSTIN SERNA  - #B728 - 35+B - Team Guinness

So now you know exactly who "I" am.....I thought I was going to just be able to let you make an ass-hole out of yourself with out adding to the fire but

SHUT THE F#$% UP

It is one thing to talk a little smack with your friends and fellow racers but you are just wrong in this case.  Due to my teamates incredible bike handling skills  he was not only able to avoid all spectaors but also come back and win the Master A Class.
